Macrophotography / Microphotography of Flowers & Parts of Flowers

Macrophotography provides us with a whole new method to enjoy the amazing world that we live in. It allows us to view a world that we cannot see with the naked eye, and it gives us the time to study and observe each and every nuance.

Flowers have so many different, unique and interesting details.

Macrophotography of flowers magically brings these details to our attention and places them in an image that we can analyze and enjoy. And flowers give us so much to enjoy – from their brightly colored petals to their small grains of pollen.

As you view the set of flowers below, observe how the colors blend into each other. Be amazed as you look at the individual pollen grains. Also look at the furry textures that are represented in the images of these pictures.

The dandelion below exhibits with amazing clarity both hard and soft textures. Notice the holes left behind when the little parachuted seed is released for dispersion. Notice also the barbs at the base off the parachute where the seed is encased, helping it to catch and attach once it has landed somewhere.

This image provides a great comparison between soft elements and hard elements.

Really beautiful pictures, homesteadbound. There's so much to appreciate in God's creation. Thanks for sharing.

I really would like to do macro photography, too. But we still don't have the special lens needed for our DSLR. For now, I can do a little of that using my point and shoot camera.

Chin chin - I seemed to have lost my thumb drive where I have stored many of my pictures. I hope to eventually maybe include some of my photos but I don't have the special lens either.

I hope you can get yours soon. My camera does not allow me to add an additional lens. So I don't even have to think about wanting it.

Thanks for stopping by and for commenting.

The photos are beautiful and I like the way you highlight different aspects of the flowers with your captions. The moisture on the hairs of the lily stamen was amazing. The detail with this macrophotography is so cool. Have you tried taking photos like this?

Hello, Chasing Riley! I have taken some close up pictures that I may eventually post, if I can find the drive I stored them on. But i do not have a macro lens. They are really cool though aren't they?

Thanks for stopping by, and for commenting. I am pleased that you are enjoying them.
