Prize Winning and Easy Sopapilla Pie Dessert Recipe
Prize Winning and Easy Sopapilla Pie Dessert Recipe
I have been making Sopapilla Pie Dessert for many years. I’m not really sure where I picked the recipe up. Someone probably brought it to a potluck and shared the recipe with me. Sopapilla Pie Dessert is really good, and it will make your kitchen smell delightful while it is baking. What makes this Sopapilla Pie Dessert recipe even better is the ease with which it can be prepared.
Why do I call it prize winning? I made this Sopapilla Pie Dessert at a church dessert contest and won first prize. Actually I had to share first place with another dessert maker ... they brought the exact same thing! This should give you some kind of idea what kind of treat you are in for!
The ingredients that you will need to make this dessert is:
- 2 cans crescent rolls
- 1 box of cream cheese
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 ½ - 1 ¼ cups of granulated sugar, divided
- 1 t. vanilla
- Cinnamon to sprinlkle
Let's make a pie!
Preheat oven to 350°.
Spread one can of crescent rolls to cover the bottom of a 9” x 13” baking pan. Press edges of rolls together.
Cream together 1 stick melted butter, 1 box of cream cheese, and 1 cup granulated sugar.
Spread over crescent roll dough pressed into pan.
Top this mixture with the next can of crescent rolls.
Melt 1 stick of butter and pour over top layer of crescent rolls.
Sprinkle with 1/4 -1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake in 350° oven for 45-50 minutes until lightly browned on the bottom.
This delectable Sopapilla Pie Dessert cuts much cleaner and better after being chilled in the refrigerator. It tastes better also.

I've had this before and it is truly delicious. Anything this good..well, has to be a little high in calories but it's well worth it. Try it and enjoy every bite.
Wow and so simple to make. This is great.

Oh my. This looks so good & very dangerous. I think I will make it when the grands come to visit so they will eat most of it leaving nothing to temp me in the middle of the night. ;-)
Meadow Kelly - It is very dangerous! But oh soooo good! The grands will love you for it! You might want to hide some just for the tempting! Have a great one! Thanks for stopping by!
this recipe is out of this world!! I put chopped nuts and smeared fig jam between layers. Undescribly delish. Heaven!!
Judy S - your additions to this recipe sound wonderful. I think I will have to give it a try. I have some homemade fig preserves I put up last year that would be just perfect with this. Yummy!
