Neodymium Magnets / Rare Earth Magnets: Magnet Sets Make Great Gifts for Many Occasions and Many Ages

Magnets are Fun and Fascinating!
There are many things that fascinated me as a child. Magnets were one of those things. I could sit and play with them for hours, trying to see how close I could get them together before one finally pulled the other. Or using a magnet to push or repel another one across a surface, or holding one in each hand trying to physically force them together against their repelling forces. They were just plain fascinating.
And I even find them fascinating today. Maybe I’m just a child at heart, but I think magnets fascinate many people. And what better way is there to create an interest in children with the sciences than using something as fun as magnets.
Magnets and the principles of magnetics are used in many practical applications. One of the first practical applications using magnets was the compass. Today, it is used extensively. Debit, credit, and ATM cards have magnetic strips with your financial institution information. Televisions and computer monitors containing a CRT use an electromagnet to guide electrons to the screen. Newer technologies such as plasma screens and LCD’s do not use magnetics.
Speakers and microphones use the complicated power of magnets to amplify the sounds. Magnetics is the principle that is utilized by electric guitars. Electric motors and generators convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is used in medical applications. Another application is toys! Lots of useful and fun things can be used because we have learned how to harvest the power of magnets!
Neodymium Magnets are Supermagnets!
Neodymium magnets are the strongest type of rare earth magnets available today. They are called rare earth magnets because they are comprised of the rare earth elements on the periodic table of elements. They are also referred to as supermagnets. A supermagnet is extremely strong for its size, and is very affordable. These are the magnets used to create the fun products listed below.

Geomag is a toy that is fun for kids and adults alike. Geomag is popular worldwide, and its fans around the world compete with each other to invent and build new models trying to create the most beautiful or original.
Geomag’s building system is based on using simple yet elegant magnetic rods and spheres. In 2010, they have expanded their products to include their “WHEELS” and “World” lines. The magnetic rods and spheres are still used to create the basic structures, with the new lines used to spark new creativity. Their Geomag cars with ramps and launchers are described as being almost indestructible.
They have also added My House and My Castle lines to provide kids the opportunity to create their own little worlds using magnetic and decorative pieces.

Warning: Playing with magnets can be very addicting. It may become impossible to stop if you ever get started. Please seek help if you find yourself unable to resist the attraction to magnets. Seek immediate help should you find yourself struggling with the popularity gained when you become magnetized and develop a magnetic personality!
WARNING - MAGNETS CAN BE A CHOKING HAZARD FOR SMALL CHILDREN
Magnets are not intended for use around small children. Most magnets are small enough for children to place in their mouths and become a choking hazard.
Not only are these magnets a choking hazard, but they have also been tied to intestinal tears when they have been ingested. Great care must be taken around small children.
Close supervision is required if used around young children.

Hello homestead!!! I will buy the Cube :O and the newton balls soon :)!!! I would right now, but need to wait for my first HP payout expecting it to be soon :)!!! Awesome Hub :) interesting/useful/awesome! Keep up the good work my friend *cheers*
Dear Santa: All I want for Christmas are Newton's Balls. I know that is an odd request, but I am from Texas afterall. I have been very good this year after reading the review! Sincerely, Homesteadbound... via davenmidtown. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA .... voted up and sharing!
Dear Santa, HSB is a generouse woman...as such, can you send her a theory of gravity set along with Newtron's Balls.
Fun Hub to read, and very informative!
My kids love these magnetic sculpture game things.. Okay I admit, I play with them too hehe.. You have found some super cheap ones out there.. I can't believe the ones at Amazon that are so inexpensive. I like the star and moon ones. Thanks for sharing these would defintely make great Christmas gifts. Voted up and awesome :)
My fiance got one of those bracelets made of a network of circle rectangular shaped magnets that snap together to form the bracelet- We pulled the whole thing apart and put it on the fridge as refrigerator magnets!
They are small and discrete and very easy to work with- and inexpensive- they hold things almost invisibly and the magnets are pretty strong (can hold thick cardboard and all that).
I believe a refrigerator should have a bunch of crap on it like coupons and what not (but be organized for cool aesthetics). We have a dry erase board on ours (not related to magnets other htan it having a magnet behind it lol)
lol actually I commented from the feed, didn't even see the hub yet :) too busy writing my 30 hub series on cats!
aaaaawwww yea :)
The first one went live, it was 4k words so I broke it into 4 hubs then ended up just building (partially) the 30 hubs.
Most of them I have to write/transcribe my notes into hubs, but this is going to be the coolest cat site- glad you found my tips useful!
I discovered that putting two dash lines (one in it's own capsule, then one below the title in a capsule below it (so the top capsule doesn't have anything but the line, no title, the bottom one has the title AND a line) this creates a powerful looking title bar effect- check out the cat hub to see it in action...
add a picture inside next to the text capsule (create a new one below with no title just the content) makes it look even better- going to build a new video this week about transferring a site to a hub series and some other tricks I learned...
it gives off this effect (hope it shows up here)

It doesn't affect anything of the sort- the title is still the first thing on the page you can't even put anything before the title field. Maybe you misunderstood what I said- it's not the "title" of the hub but the "text-capsule" title itself that I do this with.
I've done this in 30 hubs with every title (subtitle not main title), and have no problems in my accounts- I think you thought I meant the main title- and that wouldn't fly nor would it be good SEO. Did you take a look at the cat hub? It shows how it's formatted there.
What a unique thing to do with magnets.
I always think of child safety in toys. I don't think you'd want magnets that could be swallowed around small children. Just a thought. Good information here.
Interesting hub. Voted up. Then of course there are magnetic studs, that some ppl have instead of pierced studs for their ears.
Then of course over the years there have been a lot of military applications to magnets, I think.
Yes, well magnetic studs are always an option. Disadvantages to them are of course that they get lost easily and after 2 or 3 hours (or less) they do start to hurt. Which is why many wearers eventually prefer to fill piercings with studs or rings instead.
But, yes, magnetic ones are an option.
What you could do is try both: keep your rings in, but wear studs behind then also, in a 'double' look, and after a few hours see which feel better. (For many wearers, though, there really is no choice between magnetic ones and the pierced variety: the pierced ones are so much more practical.)
Two cents'.
YW. The lobicure option, with lotion and cream advice input from a salon or piercing/tattoo parlor, might be another option for you, alternatively. See what you think.
Had to bookmark this hub! My daughter (age 16) loves magnets and has asked for some for Christmas...will have to study this article and check out the different choices.
