Hubba Bubba - Just Hubbin' Along to #100
68I decided to do this hub a little differently than my first Hubba Bubba hub. Knowing that I would be documenting my next 50 hubs much the same as I had my first 50, I have been writing this one as I go along.
I will not be discussing the first 50 hubs as they were already discussed in the hub, Hubba Bubba - Hub #50. Those first 50 hubs also included my 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge.
It is hard to believe that I have written 100 articles for HubPages, but the numbers are staring back at me telling me that it truly is the case. But when I look over to the right there at the related hubs and I see people who have done 100 hubs in 30 days or 2 weeks I am floored. That is an amazing accomplishment. My accomplishment pales compared to those of these amazing hubbers. My hats go off to them, whoever they are, and whenever they have done it. Their accomplishment is truly amazing! It's a lot of work, and to have accomplished such in such a short time period . . . all I have to say is wow!
It has been a wonderful journey for me so far. Let me share the highlights with you now.
Right after publishing my 50th hub, I received a huge compliment that I want to share with all of you. My husband printed off some of my articles to use in training some of our caregivers for our business, On the Wings of Angels. He really made my day! I was walking among the clouds!
Right after publishing my 64th hub, on September 30, 2011, I was in for an even bigger surprise! One of my hubs, Boxing Painting or Action Painting - Seeing and Hearing the SPLAT! , was selected as hub of the day, while also having been featured in the weekly newsletter just a day or so before. I couldn't believe it! I saw a picture that intrigued me, wrote about it, and look what happened. It doesn't get much better than that! Wonders never cease! I had a smile on my face all day long!
Towards the end of October, another hub was selected as hub of the day, shortly after being featured in the newsletter. This hub, Blind Woman Quilter, Diane Rose in Waco, Texas, was about a very remarkable and inspirational woman!
And on Halloween, I was treated with a email from HubPages that my hubs had been viewed 10,000 times!
Self Discovery Continues
During this time frame, I read one of Emma Harvey 's hubs, Why is Writing Online Different? This hub helped me see things differently and better. The 30 day challenge that I had previously done was titled, 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge - Self Discovery. And the self discovery continues, which means that I continue to grow in my knowledge of who I am. Emma's article helped me turn a regret, "I wish I had discovered writing sooner" into being able to appreciate the other things that I have experienced, because these experiences have added depth to me which will add depth to my writing. That is huge! I went from being a victim of what life dealt out to a conqueror. I have found a treasure that I didn't know I had. Thank you, Emma!
A Special Thank to My Followers
To all my followers, and you know who you are, I want to applaud you for all of your support. I have thrived because you have been here to support me through my learning curve here at HubPages. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I reached several follower milestones during this time period. At seven and one-half weeks, with 62 published hubs, I was warmed by the appearance of that magical number -- 100. Again, I want to thank each and every one who helped in this regard. I really could not have done it without each and every one of you. In case you are wondering, Fennelseed was the hubber that brought me to this magic number - 100. And jamiesweeney took me to the magic 150 number just a few days later after my Boxing Painting was selected as hub of the day. And number 200 was cmontijo. What an amazing ride! And I only need 11 more to move to the 250 mark. Y'all have really blessed me. Thank you!
Hubs 51-100
Below is a list of the hubs I have written during this time period. They are grouped together in categories. My goal was to write 100 hubs by the time I was here 3 months. Well, that was a goal I set in the middle of October anyway. I had intended to slow down a little after the first 50, but I didn't quite accomplish that feat. But my time has come now.
Hubs Inspired by Videos and Pictures
- Cats and Water - Some Like It! Some Don't! - Although this hub had been awarded a Hub of the Day award, this hub was unpublished because the owner of the video added a watermark to the video a few months after the hub was published.
While doing research on the hub about speed painting, also called performance painting, I ran across a picture of Ushio Shinohara doing his boxing painting. I created a hub about boxing painting from the inspiration of that picture. That particular hub was chosen as a hub of the day on September 30, 2011. That just goes to show that you will never know where your next hub inspiration can come from as long as you keep your eyes, ears, and mind open to all the possibilities. It was chosen for the hub in the weekly HubPages newsletter.

Comments from other Hubbers Make It a Truly Rewarding Journey!
This is so true y'all (that's my Texas accent sneaking out there). I so look forward to your comments. In fact that is the first thing that I do when I come to HubPages in the morning and the last thing I do at night, is to see if I have any comments. If I don't have any, I get a pouty face. : (
So keep leaving those comments, so that I can wear my happy face! :)
I have received some comments from other hubbers that have really meant a whole lot to me during this time period - The last 50 of these 100 hubs. It is comments like these that add so much more depth and meaning to the HubPages Journey.
I had started listing people and their specific comments in this section, but I have had so many good ones, that it was getting too long. So I'm just going to quote a few without names, because I love the comments.
"@Homesteadbound: You are very few of those fellow hubbers who really judge a hub on its merit and goes deep inside to find the actual meaning of those words and phrases and that is why I really adore you. Thank you so much for being a wonderful part of my writing journey. . . Oh my goodness, I think you are a prodigy! Well, at least a Hubpages prodigy! Seriously, your stats and number of hubs written are absolutely amazing. I can't believe you actually have 50 hubs in less than two months. And they're good, too! You fresh hubbers are putting some of us "older" hubbers to shame with all your ambition and natural talent. Awesome work and I'm so glad to be your follower . . . Good stuff, homesteadbound, I am pressing all the buttons . . . Hey,, fav hubber!! how ya doing,, you are so prolific,, another great article == voted up . . . Thank you for this lovely hub about such a relatively unknown and under-discussed subject, which is so important, not only to those with AD, but to their families as well. Voted up, useful, awesome, beautiful, and interesting, I will be looking forward to following this series . . . Thanks so much for the sharing of this wonderfully insightful hub, voted up, useful, awesome, interesting . . . I love the way you write too. It is informative and really brings the reader along with you. A++" Thank all of YOU, you have been the wind beneath my wings.
What Makes a Good Writer?
I ended the hub, What Makes a Good Writer?, with the question, "What makes a good writer?" I thought it was a complicated question when I had to answer it, but when I asked it, I thought it should have been easy to answer, especially since I had already shared my answer with you! The answers I received were not the ones I had anticipated or expected.
I was not prepared for your responses - y'all blew me away. I was blushing, smiling and walking on cloud nine ... all at the same time ... as the comments came in. Wow! I am taking a bow and rushing off stage. You guys are wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
If you want to know what was said, you will have to go check it out for yourself. The answers were so kind and gracious, and I was very touched by each and every one of them. I do not want to demean them by making them anything other than what they are, where they are. They are treasured and precious.
And just when I said I wasn't going to say anything, my mother-in-law responded to this one and it had nothing to do with writing. She said, "You are a shining light and I know how talented you are in so very many ways ... good cook, good writer, good person, did I say good cook? You are special." Thank you, jodiejay71. You are special, too. How could I not acknowledge that one?
Whenever I want to smile and walk on the clouds, I will go there! I treasure each and every response I received from each of you. It is my happy place!
Future Plans
At the end of my hub, Hubba Bubba - Hub #50 and my hub, 1st 30 Hubs in 30 Days Hub Challenge: Self Discovery, I indicated that I was going to slow down ... It appears I fibbed! Doesn't "I fibbed" sound so much better than "I lied". I had intended to ... but good intentions can pave the road to ... I don't remember where it paves the road to, but I'm sure it's not a good place. But I once again state, I intend to slow down! I will have accomplished this milestone in less than 3 months. And although it is a good milestone to make it to, and lots of good things have happened along the way, I have been remiss. I must slow down now and work on promoting my hubs. I have not done that yet - at all. I fear it is time to work on promoting, backlinking and SEO. It may not be fun, but if I am going to make this work for me, then I must do it.
So rather than writing 100 hubs in three months, I anticipate my next 100 will take me 12 - 14 months. I would like to have 200 hubs at the end of 2012. But more importantly, I would like to be receiving payouts every month.
It also appears that as of today, I am adding something else to my plate. I am going to take part in National Novel Writing Month. Although I am already two days behind, I think that I am going to jump in and get wet. I've had a novel idea niggling at my brain for a couple weeks now, and then a read a hub that talked about it ... so, nothing ventured and nothing gained. If you want to join me for a wild and furious ride in November, check out their website.
Well, it's time to wrap this up. Thank all of you for making this the wonderful journey that it has been.

Hi there! Well I'm bookmarking this one because there is SO much into in here. I always look forward to your Hubs. You are an inspiration, that's for sure. I too open my email first thing in the AM to see who left me a comment. I've started a list of my folowers: their interests, etc. I'll come back here later. Your friend, Mary
Congratulations! An amazing feat!
Congratulations on writing 100 hubs in such a short time span. I am always amazed at writers who can produce high quality content so quickly. I've been writing here for two years and haven't made it to 50 hubs yet, but that's okay, too. When I reach 50, I'm definitely going to have to celebrate. Good luck with the NaNoWriMo! Rated up and awesome.
Hats off to you. You set yourself a goal and stuck to it and not only that, they are quality hubs, which I imagine isn't so easy to do.
Goodluck with your next goal too, although I'm sure you won't need it!!
Stepping out of our comfort zones helps keep us focused and enthusiastic, as there is nothing as good as succeeding at something we were unsure about. I think you are a fine example of that.
Congrats on #100! In two months time that's impressive! Outstanding!!! I wish there was more time in a day to write, but there isn't. Looking forward to your next 100 hubs :))
Congratulations! I knew you'd get to #100 in a breeze, you've been so dedicated - and writing impressive quality hubs to boot. You've managed some great achievements in such a small space of time. I always see you on the home feed helping other hubbers (including myself LOL); you're not just a writer but a true friend as well. Voted up, UP, UP!
Congratulations!
Homesteadbound, congrats on a great accomplishment! 100 quality hubs in 2 months, that is an amazing rate. I know you have put in the work and you so deserve everything you have received. I wish you the best dear friend and keep light'n them on fire:)
This is a blessing to hear on my part. So proud of you for accomplishing this goal. I have been here 6 months loving every minuet of writing. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations homesteadbound, 100 hubs is a great milestone! It's the quality of writing that counts and enjoying your journey along the way. Here's to the next 50!
Homesteadbound really inspires me to be better in my writings, although I am ahead of her here at HubPages.
She really makes hubs that will make you read, appreciate and comment afterwards.
Hubba Bubba series is really amazing and congratulations for this new feat.
Google AdSense will surely give your payout soon. Keep on hubbing! :D
Congratulations homesteadbound on 100 hubs in such a short space of time, it's an incredible achievement - You are an asset to HubPages and a friend and inspiration to many, your hubs so varied and interesting - well done from a fan and friend, MM

HSB: You are amazing. I enjoy your firecracker additude and zeal. Good work!
Congrats for reaching your 100th hub! I'm still so far behind :)
P.S: I think there was a chunk of text cut off from your article. It's somewhere under the Flickr section near the cat image.
Congratulations and good job! I admire you and your efforts and I hope you never stop thinking about things in that out-of-the-box way because I love where your creative muse leads you.
Congratulations on all your milestones and accolades. You have certainly earned them. You are truly an inspiration - you write well and about great topics. There is much we can learn from you.
Congratulations homesteadbound on this wonderful milestone. I am getting close to 100 hubs but it took me a year and a half. How you did this in such a short amount of time is beyond me but I am so impressed. I have really enjoyed reading your hubs and the variety of your hubs is what makes you such a great writer. I am glad to know you :-)
Hi Cindy, congratulations on breaking through to 207 Hubs.
I am in awe of how prolific you are.
Your hubs are so well written, researched and detailed.
This was a great idea for a hub too.

Congrats on your amazing milestones, homesteadbound! Your achievements are truly amazing.
I'm so glad you're taking part in NaNoWriMo this year; I'm a second-year WriMo, and let me tell you, typing the "THE END" at the end of last year's novel was the biggest thrill! Good luck with your noveling efforts, and keep Hubbing. We all enjoy your varied subjects and talented voice!
