2nd 30 Hubs in 30 Days Hub Challenge - Perseverance

Sometime in mid November, I decided that I wanted to do another 30 hubs in 30 days challenge to get my writing back on track. I knew that it would be really easy to allow myself to get off track between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I decided to do the challenge during that time period.

After developing friendships during my first journey through the 30 in 30, I also knew that it was easier to do the challenge with others. And I thought that others could possibly want to use the same motivation to keep their writing on track; so I put a call in the forum for others to join me in the challenge. And many responded. So the journey began.

Thanks to all who cheered me on during the 30 in 30!
Thanks to all who cheered me on during the 30 in 30!

A Special Thank You

I would like to extend a special thanks to those who joined in on the 30 in 30 with me. It is always better to share times - good, bad and difficult - with special friends. These special people are listed in no particular order - just how I pulled their names from the forum shared by the 30 in 30 challengers: brittanytodd, Arlene V. Poma, Indigital, Beth Pipe, carol3san, Loi-Renee, Bard of Ely, cnatraininginfo, DzyMsLizzy, Global-Chica, Chin chin, Denise Handlon, Uninvited Writer, cheatlierepeat, Chasing Riley, prairieprincess, Bianu, capricornrising, and annmackiemiller.

Some of these hubbers were well on their way when I joined them, and some joined after I did. That is one of the great things about the 30 in 30 challenge. You can start it at any time. But we all worked together to support each other and cheer each other on to victory.

I also want to thank all of my followers who have once again spent a lot of time reading a lot of hubs. I thank each and every one of you for your support. I value you more than you will ever know.

Why perseverance?

I started my first 30 in 30 challenge after being at HubPages for only 12 days on August 18, 2011, and the title for that hub was: 1st 30 Hubs in 30 Days Hub Challenge: Self Discovery! I titled it that because I learned so much during that time period - about writing, about HubPages and about myself!

My second hub challenge, this one, I began on November 25, 2011 and completed it on December 15th.

Perseverance is the one word that I would use to describe my completion of this hub challenge. Long before I wrote half of the hubs for this challenge, I was ready for this challenge to be over. I think that it happened around hub 13.

I had just completed 7 macrophotography hubs. Those hubs required a bunch of effort to locate the images I wanted to use, and then a bunch more time downloading them and attributing them correctly with the photographer's information. I think it wore me out. But I'm glad that I did them, and I'm glad I successfully completed this challenge. Many times over the last few days I really wondered if I was going to. And I knew if I didn't do it quickly I might not get it done!

Where to from here?

I have one more challenge that I am trying to complete before the end of the year. I intend to have 150 hubs before the end of the year, although that should not be too hard. I am looking for wood to knock on because I do not want to jinx it. I only need 4 more after I publish this one and two weeks to go.

Thanks for taking the time to celebrate another completed 30 in 30.

Don't have your energy, Cindy. Far from it. Thank you for the invite, encouragement, and support. You have showed me that it makes a very big difference when you do the 30/30 with other people. I would much rather be with a group than go at it alone. I am way behind with the reading, but I must say I've kept my bookmarks going. I haven't bought a magazine or a novel for weeks! Plenty of talent on HubPages. With only 4 Hubs left, you should finish your goal in your sleep! Thanks for everything. I will continue to write Hubs until my 30th day. I did the same thing during the last challenge.

Phew! 30 hubs in 22 days. What an accomplishment!

Four hubs to go until the end of this year, will for sure be a piece of cake to you after this.

You are such a great inspiration to others! I wish I could be as determined as you, but I know my limitations. I truly admire people like yourself.

Congratulations! Well done.

You deserve all the votes and thumbs up!

Arlene - what is really funny, is that I am a low energy person. In order to do something like this I have to stay VERY focused. A lot of stuff doesn't get done. And I've had an unexpected client that has been eating into my days that I am doing cognitive stimulation with 4 days a week. I'm also dealing with severe knee pain that keeps me from sleeping that I think is osteoarthritis. I'm doing some natural things to help, but one leg cannot do stairs and I have a multilevel home. So the other leg is suffering too.

But I just have to keep going. Thanks for stopping by and for commenting. I plan to catch up on some of my reading also.

SanneL - sometimes I don't know my limitations and I push myself too hard. I came very close this time. I am truly breathing a sigh of relief knowing that this is behind me.

Thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it!

Congrats on finishing! I am so happy that we went through this together. Thank you for all of the support and comments during our 30 in 30. Thank you also for inspiring my favorite hubs of the week hub. You write quality content and I love reading your hubs. I know you can make it to 150 hubs before the end of this year! Good luck. Voted up!

brittanytodd - I am happy that we went through it together also. It is so much easier to do when you know that someone will be there reading and commenting and providing feedback. Thanks for doing that.

Good luck to you also. Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats on finishing the challenge and I'm certain that you'll reach your goal of 150 hubs by the end of the year with 4 more good quality hubs. Many thanks for your support and thanks for the shout out! I hope to find the perseverance to finish that you've found but do find it very challenging since I spend my days working on a completely different writing assignment, my Master Thesis. The hubs are a nice break for me. All the best to you, homesteadbound!

Another milestone in your HubPages career being able to finish two 30 Hubs in 30 Days challenge. Congratulations! I really liked the macrophotography hubs you made. And you just need 2 more hubs and you've reached your 150 hubs goal for the year. Go, go, go...

Congratulations on completing the second 30 hubs in 30 days hubchallenge. It does get tiring at the end, doesn't it? I manage to get a second wind if I keep it up, and it looks like you did to, since you were able to finish early. I absolutely love the comment graphic. It is so pretty. I am going to create one, but haven't done it yet.

Chin chin - I was glad to be able to share part of my 30 in 30 experience with you. Maybe we will meet there again sometime, but I have a feeling it is going to be a while before I try another.

I am glad that you enjoyed the macrophotography series. I still have a few more planned. Just got tired of down loading all those pictures.

Thanks for stopping by!

Millionaire - I knew if I didn't get on the ball and get it done, it was going to be even harder. So I just gritted my teeth and charged ahead.

The graphic I had made and was using prior to this was flashy and loud. This one is more subdued and classy. I like this one better also.

thanks so much!
